Jennifer Surerus, MSW, RSW, BA, DSW

Social Worker, Educator, and Holistic Practitioner

Jennifer Surerus is a compassionate and experienced social worker with a Master of Social Work from York University. With nearly two decades of dedicated service, she has supported individuals with disabilities and their families, providing tailored care and advocacy.

Currently, Jennifer shares her expertise as a part-time instructor in the Doula Studies program at Fanshawe College. Her diverse background includes over 20 years of teaching yoga, practicing energy work, and more than a decade of experience as a doula.

Jennifer specializes in disability-related issues, transitional times in life, and supporting people in connecting with their mind, body, and spirit. She utilizes a Narrative Therapy approach deeply rooted in Feminist, Anti-Oppressive, and Harm-Reduction frameworks, ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment for all clients. She welcomes individuals from all backgrounds, including 2SLGBTQIA+, people from the global majority, fat people, and disabled people.

Jennifer's broad experience allows her to offer single-session, short-term, long-term, or solution-focused counselling tailored to meet each client's unique needs. Counselling services are available virtually, and starting in February 2025, Jennifer will also offer in-person sessions in St. Thomas, Ontario. Her holistic approach and commitment to inclusivity make her a trusted and effective practitioner in the field.
